Ed's Testimony
I joined the Air Force in 1990 and was stationed at Luke Air Force Base, Glendale, Arizona. David Eniss became a friend in the dormitory. He has been a Christian for several years, and told me about Jesus many times and invited me to church. With nothing better to do, I decided one Sunday morning to go with him.
After attending church for several weeks I felt that something important was missing in my life. The Holy Spirit was working to make me a part of what God was doing in the church. The fellowship and activities were enjoyable and many people in church were praying for me to be saved.
On December 25, 1990, after returning from a party, David was praying for me in the dormitory. I was convicted of my sin, and David led me to Jesus while we sat on my bed in the dorm room. Not really understanding what happened to me until the next Sunday, I felt as if I would explode with joy and wanted to know what God was going to do next in my life.
After reassignment to Ramstien Air Base, Germany, in February 1991, I attended Rheinland Baptist Church, Kindsbach, Germany. Being thankful for the opportunity to meet several missionaries while living there, I became burdened for the ministry and asked God many times if He wanted me to be a Preacher, or Missionary. I began to work with four-year-old Childrens Church and my love for the children grew.
Dr. Charles Davis from Trinity Baptist College, Jacksonville, Florida, came in May 1994 and spoke to the Singles group at Rheinland Servicemen's Center. Afterwards, we talked about the desires of my heart, and he gave me a verse, 1 Timothy 3:1, "This is a true saying, If a man desire the office of a bishop, he desireth a good work." That was a great help and I began to ask the Lord "What were the strongest desires of my heart?" and what pleased Him. The answer was to teach children and to have a good Christian family someday that loves and serves the Lord in ministry. Later that year I surrendered my life to the Lord for full time Christian service. Psalm 37:4 became my life verse, "Delight thyself also in the LORD; and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart."
Since1993 I have been continually involved in ministries such as: the Bus Ministry, Children's Church, Puppet Ministry, AWANA, Master's Club, Child Evangelism Fellowship, two summers as an evangelist with Neighborhood Bible Time, Vacation Bible School, Missions trips, Flea Market Ministry, Video Bus, Youth Camp, Bible Clubs, Teacher Training, and door to door street witnessing ministries.
I graduated from Trinity Baptist College in May 2002, majoring in Bible and Church Ministries, and was ordained by Trinity Baptist Church in September 2002. Jade and I are currently on deputation as church planters serving through Independent Baptist Church Planters of America, (IBCPA).
Jade's Testimony
Raised in a Christian home, my parents were faithful in taking us to a Baptist church and to Sunday School every time the church doors were opened. One Sunday at the age of five, my teacher talked to us about going to Heaven but I could not because of my sin. My Dad talked to me after we got home that Sunday. He opened and read the Bible with me and then prayed. I thought I was saved then.
Eight years later while at a youth camp at Ridgecrest North Carolina, I heard preaching on Hell and how to know if you are truly saved. I gave many excuses why I thought I was going to Heaven such as; my Mom and Dad takes me to church. I prayed with my Dad, but I had no personal conviction of sin.
I finally stopped fighting one night at church and went forward to get saved. One of the counselors took me to a room, showed me from the Bible what Hell is, that my sins separate me from God and that it is only through Christs Blood and what he did on Calvary that can wash all my sins. Going to church faithfully, having good Christian parents or riding the church bus every Sunday will not do it, but trusting Jesus and Him alone is the only way. I trusted Christ as my Savior on July 10,1981 and have never have doubted my salvation since.
After graduating High School I surrendered for full time ministry and Matthew 18:14 became my life verse, "Even so it is not the will of your Father which is in heaven, that one of these little ones should perish." I attended the Child Evangelism Fellowship Leadership Training Institute, Warrenton, Missouri and graduated as a Certified Teacher Trainer in April 1990. Grace Baptist Church, Ocean Springs, Mississippi, commissioned me as a missionary to the children in February 1992.
I served through Maranatha Baptist Missions Incorporated and have continually been involved in Teacher Training Workshops, Vacation Bible Schools, Bus Ministry, AWANA, Master's Club, Childrens Church, puppet ministry, missions trips, Video Bus, Bible Clubs, Mailbox Clubs, Open Air Crusades, fair ministry, flea markets, Youth Camp, door to door and street witnessing ministries.
Ed and I are currently on deputation as church planters serving through Independent Baptist Church Planters of America, (IBCPA).
